New Report Reveals Future of Conveyancing Industry

Realtime Conveyancer-3

A new report released today by Realtime Conveyancer, "State of Conveyancing 2025," reveals the conveyancing industry is grappling with significant challenges and opportunities amidst evolving technology and client expectations.

The report, based on a survey of conveyancers, paints a picture of an industry dominated by women and small businesses, with an aging workforce and a heavy workload that experience and time does not diminish. Key findings include:

  • Long Hours and High Stress: 67% of conveyancers describe their workload as busy, and 46% work more than 41 hours per week.
  • Love for the Work: Despite challenges, 61% of conveyancers would recommend their profession, with many citing job security and satisfaction with their salaries.
  • Technology as both an Opportunity & a Challenge: While conveyancers recognise the potential of cloud-based technology and AI, they also express concerns about cybersecurity and privacy.

"Conveyancers are passionate about their work, but the data reveals some of the pressure the industry is under," said Kylie Dillon, CEO and Founder of Realtime Conveyancer. "Long hours and administrative burdens are taking a toll, and we need to find ways to support conveyancers in doing their best work."

The report also highlights the need for greater adoption of technology and training to address these challenges and make conveyancers feel safe about adapting to change.

"Technology is not a replacement for personalised service, but an enabler," Kylie added. "By embracing the right tools, conveyancing businesses can improve efficiency, reduce stress, and enhance client satisfaction."

The "State of Conveyancing 2025" report is the first time the conveyancing industry has taken a snapshot of the issue impacting the industry and is the start of setting important benchmarks. It highlights both the urgency of change and the opportunities that lie ahead.
