Without a team to fall back on, the volume of daily administrative duties, client communications and looming regulatory shifts can create unwanted pressure. For Ross Wharton-Street – the sole operator of Blaze Conveyancing in Western Australia – handling both residential and commercial settlements means traditional office infrastructure is a liability. Rigid, location-bound systems hinder his productivity. So, he has turned to a digital platform – Realtime Conveyancer – to give him both geographic and professional freedom. His journey began six years ago when he decided to digitise all the company documents and create a paperless environment. But it wasn’t enough. "I wanted flexible technology that I could use wherever and whenever I wanted," Ross recalls. He began a search for a technology partner who could offer operational mobility without compromising compliance responsibilities and the ability to grow his client list. ## **Realtime’s ‘multiplier’ effect** His answer was Realtime Conveyancer – a company based in his own state! Ross’s move to Realtime has also reshaped how Blaze Conveyancing operates. He says that while a solo practice relies entirely on the energy of its founder, Realtime has had a “multiplier” effect, creating more efficient processes and reducing the stress of running the business. Realtime has eliminated the daily friction of local errands. “If I have to go and do a manual paper settlement,” says Ross, “I can still continue to do my job on my mobile or my laptop.” ## **Don’t be left behind** For Blaze Conveyancing, Ross says its future is secure because Realtime has become a foundational technology that is adaptable and mobile. The pivot to a cloud-native model isn't just a modern convenience, it’s a vital survival mechanism for the solo practitioner, he says. Offering advice to other conveyancers who might hesitate to make a digital leap, Ross is unequivocal about the road ahead: "Embrace it,” he says. “You need to go forward. Our whole industry is going this way. If you don’t go in this direction and embrace the technology, you are going to be left behind.” By shedding the weight of traditional office infrastructure, Blaze Conveyancing has proven that with the right digital tools, even the smallest businesses can achieve global flexibility.
